Just by applying products in a different order or just by adding a little heat can completely change how a product works.

HAIR PLAY

Dry Wax

light hold. This product is geared for people with short hair to create texture with a light hold. Also, this is a great product for guys who are looking for control without having any heavy products or hairsprays in their hair.
Clay crème by itself, this will give great texture and separation. This is great for people who want a stronger hold without making the hair crunchy.
You can heat this product with a blow-dryer to make it smoother and more workable. Great for updo’s and getting a smooth look and strong hold on short hair.

– Use in wet hair to give you a light hold, shine, and heat protection.
– Use on day old hair to re-blow dry. Just spray onto hair and smooth with a blow dryer and round brush.

From Grey to Hey – Aurelio Salon and Spa in New Jersey

This guest came to me with 100% grey hair from roots to ends. After being all grey for a few years, she was ready for a new darker look! We had a thorough consultation and decided to make her a dark brunette with a hint of a red/copper tone. When coloring 100% grey hair it’s best to use permanent hair color to prevent fast fading. Determine what level the guest would like to achieve and make sure the color you choose together is dark enough to completely cover the grey.

Formulate using mostly from the “N” series with 20 volume developer for the best coverage possible. Always apply starting at the root first then combing through the ends if needed. Make sure to let the color process on the head for the full time needed, which is generally 30-45 minutes.

After giving her the round layered bob that she desired, I applied Goldwell’s Double Boost and Sleek Perfection. She then received a voluminous sleek style finished with Goldwell’s Big Finish.

To properly maintain colored hair an appointment for a touch up is needed about every 3-5 weeks. For best results it’s good to use color safe shampoo and conditioner for at home care between salon visits. In addition to help prevent fading, avoid excess sun exposure and chlorine water. So this past week I attended the Molly Tremante class for Men’s Styling and Barbering. Like all of the KMS classes, there were a ton of “a-ha” moments and so many tips and tricks that I can implement within the salon environment.
Barbering is an art that many hairdressers shy away from because they are intimidated by the technicality in a men’s cut. With ANY design, it is all about the shape pf the head; that’s where you’ll find the areas you need more heights, de-bulking, etc. The intimidation with men’s cutting is that you will see everything, but that’s your opportunity to showcase your best work.
Now-a-days, men aren’t all about the wash and go, they want style. Take a look at Jared Leto and his “man bun”, even back to James Dean and his “rock-a-billy” style, these statements require simple styling.

“Rock-a-Billy” Do:

Ready for Red?

Regrow Faded Hair End Color – Aurelio Salon in New Jersey

When beginning with this service our stylist was faced with regrowth, faded color in the mid -shaft, and compromised ends. Our client had the desire to maintain the ombre and to refresh the faded red color as well as her roots. She loves vibrant red, but still wanted it to seem somewhat natural. Our solution was to use Colorance by Goldwell.

Our results were amazing. Now that the color was fixed we had to give her hair shape. She had long wavy hair reaching over half of her back. The hair was thick and weighed down, with dead ends. 3 inches was taken off her ends and lots of layers were placed to create movement and lift for her cut. I finished her style with a face frame to connect her grown out fringe with her cut.
