The Consultation and Color Choice

When coloring 100% grey hair, it is important to choose a formula that is strong enough to cover the grey while still creating the desired tone. For this guest, the goal was a darker brunette result with warmth, so the color needed to be deep enough to fully cover the grey while still allowing the red/copper tone to show through.

The color was then allowed to process for the full recommended time, generally 30 to 45 minutes, to help achieve the best coverage and lasting result.

The Finished Cut and Style

After the color service, Jenna gave the guest the round layered bob she desired. This haircut helped complete the transformation by giving the new brunette color a fresh shape and polished finish.

To style the hair, Jenna applied Goldwell’s Double Boost and Sleek Perfection. The guest then received a voluminous, sleek style finished with Goldwell’s Big Finish. The final look showed off the rich brunette color, the red/copper tone, and the smooth shape of the layered bob.

Maintaining Colored Grey Hair

To properly maintain colored hair, a touch-up appointment is usually needed about every 3 to 5 weeks. This helps keep the new growth covered and the overall color looking fresh.
