The Starting Point
The guest came in with a natural Level 6 at her roots and a Level 7/8 warm tone on her ends. She wanted a subtle but noticeable change that would brighten her overall look and add a warm, peachy finish. Because her base was already warm, the transition to a peach ombre finish could be achieved with minimal disruption to her natural color.
The Color Formula: Goldwell Colorance
The stylist chose Goldwell Colorance to achieve the peach ombre result. Colorance is a demi-permanent formula that adds tone, warmth, and shine without harsh lift. For a peach ombre, the goal was to deposit warm, peachy tones into the mid-shaft and ends while blending smoothly into the natural root color. Using a demi-permanent formula also helped protect the condition of the hair while adding the desired warmth and vibrancy.
The Ombre Application Technique
The hair was sectioned into four quadrants to ensure even placement. Starting in the back, one-inch diagonal partings were taken and each section was teased at the root to help create a natural, seamless blend. Teasing at the root helps the ombre melt into the natural color and eliminates harsh lines at the transition point — the more the section is teased, the lower the ombre placement will fall. A board and foil were placed under each section during application to keep the color controlled and precise.
Once the ends were fully covered with the peach formula, the color was worked upward toward the root area to ensure a seamless gradient. The result was a warm, orangey peach finish that faded naturally into the guest’s base color.
The Finished Result
The final peach ombre gave the guest exactly what she wanted — a warm, bright finish with movement and dimension. The Goldwell Colorance formula left the hair feeling soft and shiny, with the peachy tones adding warmth and energy to the overall look without a dramatic change to the root area.
