On March 28th, the New York Public Library , Luncheon Lecture Series, hosted Ivy Style Unbuttoned: Italian Menswear on Rodeo Drive. Presented by Diane Maglio Professor at Berkeley College Fashion Dept and The Fashion Institute of Technology.
The lecture covered men’s styles from 1976 to 1986. The Ivy League Style of that time and how it was influenced by the Italians.
There seems to be cross influences between California and Italy. The Italians knew about branding and getting their fashions into the movies.
With our movies and TV highly driving fashion. Many of the customs shopper for the movies shop on Rodeo Drive. The italians focused on California.
She covered sweaters jackets and shirts. Comparing the fashion through out time to that of the 70’s-80’s and pointed out how the design of many of the trends were a look from earlier times with an Italian twist.
In the 80’s the look was a preppy look with a look of self confidence, easy of manor, and success.

Aurelio Salon’s Management teams, from Howell and Toms Rivers, attended a 2 day intense training in Chicago with Professional Salon Concepts owners Terri and Steve Cowan.
Terri and Steve are respected mentors in the beauty industry providing salon owners, managers and staff with knowledge and education. The program they teach is called Salon Inc. and it’s designed to help managers run and improve the salons systems, as well as adding Value to the services preformed for the guest.
Daisy and Stephanie from our Howell salon and Mel from our Toms River Salon, took full advantage of the days learning how to improve the guest experience at Aurelio Salon.
They are excited to implement what our new coaches have them.

Congratulation to Rosalia, our Esthetician, on becoming an Expert in Dermalogica! Through extensive training with Dermalogica, Aurelio Salon’s Skin Care line, Rosalia joins a handful of people in New Jersey with that designation.

Her training began with Tier 1 where she became Dermalogica Certified after completing “Derm Live, a 2-day intensive training, introducing the products.

She then moved on to Tier 2 and became a Dermalogica Specialist! To become a Specialist, She needs to complete 9 courses: Great Skin with Face Mapping, AGE Smart, Investing in Your Future Skin, Dermalogica Exfoliation Workshop, Retailing Made Easy, The Dermalogica Skin Treatment, MediBac Clearing: Acne Treatment and Prevention, 1 Touch Therapy class

But she did not stop there moving on to Tier 3 she achieved her goal of becoming a Dermalogica Expert! This consisted of 7 more workshops: ChromaWhite TRx : A New Era In Skin Brightening, MicroZone Treatments, 2 Touch Therapy classes, UltraCalmingTM: Serious Relief for Sensitive Skin, Targeted Treatments with Technology, Bite-Size Business Solutions: Event Planning A-Z, Pass the hands-on assessment.

Even though she has reached the Expert certification Rosalia still continues to continue her education with Dermalogica by taking even more education to improve her skills.

” I have had very comprehensive esthetic training. Achieving the Beauty Specialist and Facial Electrical Certifications at the world-renowned Atelier Esthetique of New York as well as participating in courses through the International Therapy Examination Council developed out of London, United Kingdom. More recently received the Dermalogica Expert certification through the International Dermal Institute NY. I’ve maintained, achieved, and received in all aspects of esthiology education. Being a skincare therapist means more to me than facials and hair removal. It’s about having integrity with my clients, meaning so staying up to date with technique and product formulations.
