When the hair was nearly dry, a small additional amount of texture cream was worked through the ends to further separate and define the finish.

To complete the style, a light-hold texture spray was applied underneath the layers in an upward motion to create fullness, body, and dimension throughout the hair. The result was a style with natural-looking volume, lived-in texture, and beautiful cool aqua and sea foam tones.

This client came to Aurelio Salon & Spa in Howell, NJ ready for a color change. After a thorough consultation to understand her hair goals and current condition, our stylist created a rich, dimensional violet result using a precise two-step professional color process.

The Process

The hair was sectioned into quadrants to ensure even, controlled application throughout. Beginning at the nape, a Structure Equalizer Spray was applied first to balance the hair’s porosity — an important step when working with fashion colors, as uneven porosity causes color to absorb differently in different areas, leading to an uneven result.

The first Goldwell color formula was applied root to ends and processed for 30 minutes. After processing, the hair was shampooed — but not conditioned at this stage — and blow-dried completely. Conditioning before the second formula can create a barrier that prevents the color from absorbing evenly, so timing matters.

Once the hair was fully dry, the second color formula was applied to the mid-shaft and ends. After the formula was fully distributed through those sections, it was worked up onto the new growth to ensure seamless blending from root to tip. This second formula processed for an additional 30 minutes.

The finishing step used Goldwell Dualsenses Color Shampoo and Conditioner to cleanse and seal the color — locking in vibrancy and adding a healthy, reflective shine to the finished violet result.
